Good News for Delhiites Blue Line Metro to be connected with Rapid Rail

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Saturday handed over the revised DPR of the metro from Noida Electronic City to Sahibabad to GDA. In it, DMRC has said that the construction of the corridor will cost Rs 1517 crore. It has also suggested that the GDA and Uttar Pradesh Housing Development Council can earn Rs 1408.92 from the Transit Oriented Development (TOD) by selling additional floor area (FAR) in the 500 meters area on either side of the corridor. This can offset the cost to a great extent. The DMRC has stated in the DPR that the construction of this corridor will take four years.

According to the revised DPR, the Blue Line Metro Corridor from Noida Electronic City will be extended to Sahibabad.  Now its length will be 5.017 km. Alignment has been changed in the revised DPR.

Now Metro Corridor will be extended to CIF Mohan Nagar Link Road crossing NH-9. From here till the first of Hindon Canal, the corridor road will be in the middle. It will then be turned over from elevated road. After this, the corridor will be diverted on the road between Vasundhara Sector-7 and Sector-9 along with Mohan Nagar Link Road. From here it will be made via Mahavir Chowk, Mahavir Marg. Then, turning from the green belt, the corridor will be added to Sahibabad station on the proposed metro line from Vaishali to Mohan Nagar on Madan Mohan Malviya Road.

Rapid Rail Station will be built in Sahibabad, the alignment of this metro corridor has been changed to connect it. Earlier, after crossing the corridor elevated road, it was to pass through Mohan Nagar Link Road. In the revised DPR, the cost of the corridor has been proposed at Rs 1517 crore. In which Central Government will contribute 20% and contribution of 80% will done by State Government. Explaining that the length of the corridor in the original DPR was 5.917 km. The cost was stated to be Rs 1786 crore.
