The Wheels of Passenger Trains stopped after March 22 due to Coronavirus outbreak. After this, all passenger trains cancelled from 22 March to 31 March later period extended till 14 April. On the other hand, government ordered lockdown.
Along with the cancellation of passenger trains, the General Ticket Counter and Reservation Counter have also been locked. Thousands of passengers booked reservation tickets to travel in Mail/Express, Superfast and other trains between 22 March to 14 April, on cancellation of their tickets, the railway announced that the entire amount will be refunded after 14 April.
After 14 April, the trains are expected to start operating. On the other hand, after the closure of the reservation office, IRCTC has given the facility to passengers to book e-tickets for trains running from April 15, so that people in the lockdown can take advantage through online. Travelers from South East Central Railway Zone are also making full use of this facility along with other zones. Ticket booking is being done continuously for most long distance trains. In which more than 2 thousand people of the three divisions Bilaspur, Raipur and Nagpur under South East Central Railway Zone are taking advantage of the booking done through the IRCTC website by sitting at home.
According to IRCTC, Railway Board has fixed the date of cancellation of train operations till 14 April, 12:00 AM. Reservation Counter is closed due to lockdown, due to which passengers are also not leaving the house. IRCTC has provided the facility of online booking to the passengers from their home. If train services cancelled which is likely to be started after 12:00 AM on the night of 14 April, the full amount will be refunded to the passengers.
